Alabama, Land of the Absurd. | Don't really know where to post this.
Mom is getting a lot of nuisance calls (robo, telemarketers, etc). She is on the donotcall list (and has been since 2003).
Looking for a simple switch/answering machine that requires a caller to press one for Joan or press 2 for Bill.
This is an ATT single landline. She is a 50 year ATT/Bellsouth customer and they want her to pay to block calls. Don't get me started on ATT.
Anyway, is there a device that will do this? Used to be one (called a Telebouncer), but is "no longer in production". Uh huh, sounds fishy.
I know I can hook up an answering machine and turn the ringer off.
Just seems to me there should be a simple switch that requires the caller to do something to continue with the call. I don't know anything about telephony so I'm probably way off base but thought I would try here. Contacted ATT and they were absolutely no help whatsoever.
Don't want a call blocker. They are pretty much worthless, imo.
Mom is not technologically savy, so it has to be simple. |
