St.Clair Co. IL.
We used to run a L2 for years, GREAT machine, The M is a tad smaller, for your acres, it well work fine, should be able to run a 18' flex head and a 6 row corn head depending on yield and terrain, hills and high yields you will overload it.
Only problem I see is age, it may be hard finding some parts for it
The massey? stay away far far away, wasn't a bad machine but again age and the fact that they will be hard to find parts for.
I know you are looking at money too, but why not a little newer like a R-42 or even a R-50/52?
seen a super clean R-42 sell last spring for 23xxx
friend had a slick 42 for sale also don't know if he still has it, a little money spent now may be cheaper down the road.
Just my thinking
Bob
