Not sure of the years, but back in the early 2000's Chevy sold a Heavy Half. From what I was told it was basically the "old" 3/4 ton frame & axles (8 bolt). Only ever saw one on the road. I'd buy one if it were still available....especially with the current engines & transmissions.
They called it the 1500HD - had semi floating rear and an 8600 GVWR. Had 8 bolt axles and the 6.0.
