Was wrong.
Sounds like the firmware is out of date on the GPS receiver. The firmware is only good for about 500 weeks (approx. 10 years) after an update. After this time, the date resets and will show a date from approximately 10-20 years ago. You can resolve the issue by downloading and updating the GPS receiver
