It's common for the fuel pump to go out on these trucks, if I remember right the fuel pump was too small and the design didn't help the life of them. They "pulled" fuel more than "pushed" fuel which caused them to have a shorter life. The fuel pump is about $1k if I remember right, they are great engines though and worth fixing imo.
