Maybe he needs the money to pay a bill?? Not everyone has an HSA strictly as an investment tool.
He is not paying a bill he is looking at buying a prepaid medical helicopter evacuation policy. That may or may not be a good idea I know those helicopter rides are not cheap. Either way he probably has extra disposable income to even be considering about something like this so I thought I would point out the hidden benefits of the HSA. Heck if I only the money to do one or the other I would fund an HSA before an IRA just because the money can be accessed without penalty provided you save your medical receipts. |
