| Can a swather that is currently running on a 1000 PTO be switched to 540? If so, would it be as easy as switching the PTO pump to a different one and how much might that cost? Tired of using one tractor to run the 1000 swather and another tractor to run the 540 baler. When one tractor goes down, half the operation stops. I know I could swap the shafts on the tractor back and forth, but would rather just make both implements the same. A dealer sold us an adaptor to adapt the 540 to 1000 splines. That worked well. The swather ran at half speed just as I had predicted even though we were told that many guys use them. If your tractor can change the PTO speed with the flip of a switch that might be ok, but this particular tractor won't. Thanks.
