Northeast Nebraska | We just bought a new one this year. Except 71 footer. In corn under 18% you could give it all it could take. Above that you would shear the bolt. After augering about 5000 bushels we broke a chain on the hopper. Chain said "china" on them. Went straight to town and got 2 new diamond chains and just replaced them both. Got the chain on and found the real reason it broke.... they had the sprockets misaligned on one of the augers. Pretty poor quality control if you ask me. Also 3 of the 4 tires on the hopper have gone flat. They all had tubes, they pinched them installing at the factory.
We bought the auger because we were tired of fighting our worn out peck. We had to fight this new one for a couple days to get the kinks worked out. Its good now though. Just poorly assembled. | |
