Use a variable rate valve that runs off of your ground speed indicator (GPS or radar) rather than a pressure relief valve. I use them hydraulically driven or PTO driven with GPS calibration for sprayers or liquid fertilizer injectors. The thing with diaphragm pumps is they don't like low RPM's and will fail. They also must have a set pressure against them and maintain 20% case pressure to keep the diaphragm's from rupturing. They will pulse real bad if to slow and/or low case pressure. Also get them with Brass heads because fertilizer will eat the aluminum heads.
