Subject: Using a JD 6500 sprayer for spraying 32% N solution

East Central Arkansas

Have any of you used a 6500 for putting out 32%? Seems like last spring there was some talk on here about doing it. I know the 32% is highly corosive  and will eat stuff up pretty fast especially if it's not washed good . What about the pumps, valves and flowmeters?

If you have used this machine for 32% are you spraying straight 32% or are you cutting it with water?

What about tips?  I would think a stainless steel tip would be necessary and  some sort of a flood tip that wouldn't create a mist or fog that would be drifting all over the machine. I know that the speed you want to run and the gpa would determine the size tip to have.

I don't know that this is something I would want to use my sprayer for but I was just thinking about it. I don't have a lot of acres to cover with this sprayer but I know that keeping fertillizer off of this machine will add years to it's life.
