| I did my own zone sampling here a couple years ago using the programs you mentioned. It was very time intensive and the lab fees are not cheap. Looking around I stumbled across Farmer's Edge and set up zones with them, have been pretty happy with their service. I feel I compromise quality a little but thought I would give it a try and like I said so far so good. Takes almost a year to get it set up and running smooth though. They charge $5/A/Year now I believe and feel that is good value for what a guy gets. As far as grid vs. zone? I think that depends on what you're trying to do. Soil amendment such as PH, or Base Sat %'s grids might be worth it. But if you're not trying to change PH or the makeup of your soil and are mostly worried right now about N P K and some micros, I feel zone is the way to go. This is non-irrigated in ND. | |
