Subject: JD Feederhouse belt slips

SESD
JD 9660 with a 8 row chopping corn head. The feederhouse belt slips. Things get hot and the belt slips more. We tried a new belt, have had top and bottom variable drives appart and all looks normal. It has worked fine for most of the season (5-6mph) but lately have had to slow down ground speed to 4-4.5mph because of the belt slipping. Any one else with similar experience or ideas of what may be causing this slippage?
