Not an answer to your question but I was thinking about making a 1000 bu dump pit the other day. I was wondering about pouring a 'basement' type structure and dropping a 1000 bushel grain cart into it. Actually I was thinking you could put a smaller cart in and extend the sides for more capacity. Could even use an older cart and remove the flighting and slip a new complete auger down the tube so it could be removed easily for r&r. Put the leg on top of the ground to keep all that out of a pit. You could have access to the under side of the graincart to maintain the drain and anything else. What do you experts think. Not many on farm storage out-fits around my parts.
