Weren't they made with a false end gate that would push the hay off the teeth, and not dump it. that way it was much easier to shape the sack and move the hay around with a 3 tine hay fork. My dad use to tell how a well trained person on the stack could pitch the hay around to shape the stack and get it to shed the rain and snow. We have a Midwest stacker fork that is hydraulic operated. It went on the front of a
Midwest hydraulic loader, that we had mounted on a H Farmall. I can only remember using it once back in the 40's when we had some hay that had been rained on multiple times and wasn't worth baling, but had to get it off the field to save the seeding.
