Rich, I've got the basket from one of those "hay sweeps" dismantled in the rafters of one of the little old sheds here.  I'm sure my Grandpa used it back in the day before the first sq. balers came into the country.

And, it's obvious you were right the about the original photos being a hay stacker. This particual one had just been reconfigured for some of it's other uses.
