Freedom, WI | Today was chilly but there are a few days it just gets hot in the barn. Currently we have three on the north end pulling air through the barn. They don't move much in summer so we have 4 (I believe they are 36") fans in front of the cows, two per side. That definitely helps a bit but I was thinking. Would it be possible to put three more fans in the north end? They would be directly above the existing fans but they would have to be upstairs in the barn by our mixer. They would be sitting on the floor upstairs, supported by the block wall underneath. The floor would have to be peeled back a little ways and we would have to build sort of tunnel to draw air from the lower level to the upper level and out. Would this help move more air? Just something I was thinking of, as I have been trying to advance cow comfort a bit more.
Edit: the existing fans are 60" Acme's. The red dots are where the fans would go. Not the best picture, but the best one I have on my phone right now.
