Subject: Frustrated with 1770 VRD planting too high on milo

perryton, tx
I can't find a single reason for why the actual seed we're using doesn't match what the monitor says it's planting. The population counts on the display match the target I entered but I'm guessing actual seed drop is 3000-4000 higher than what the monitor is reading. My 1st thought was the speed reading was wrong but it's from GPS and it's consistently within a tenth higher or lower than the tractor speed reading and my Trimble FM 1000 speed reading. I double checked and the correct plate is entered in the setup. We've had issues many times with erratic seed sizes in milo causing doubles but I've never seen that not picked up by the monitor with a bunch of high warnings. I've run out of things to check and I hate to start trying to play with the rate controller trying to compensate. I cant come up with any explanation why the monitor population counts would be wrong so any help appreciated.
