With Filed IQ I am guessing you are using Trimble, and from what you have said you want something to disengage the drive on the headlands. If you are using a FMX/FM1000 have you looked into using remote output? Have not dealt with it for a while so would have to study up on the options, but I think with a couple relays you could set it up to send out a pulse. I'm not sure about triggering the tractor remote but if spring down is already on the spreader you just need pressure to lift the wheel and then a release so it drops back down. If no spring talk to a hydraulics shop, I'm sure there are valves available that sending power to them would activate one port and vent the other back, then when power is removed it would reverse the flow.
