Ive got a HP 6700 printer. I do very little color printing. seems like everytime I turn around, it tells me the color cartridges are depleted, and must be replaced before I can print, even tho I select black and white copy. I would be happy if it would just let me go ahead and make a black copy, or printout, but it wont let me. Is there anyway around this?
I had the same problem with a pair of Epson printers, we sometimes will go a week without printing anything. found often that new color cartridges were dry with less than a hundred sheets printed if the 100 sheets were spread over a month or more. The ink cartridges would dry up almost unused and the print head would clog with dried ink.
We had enough, we spent a bit more and got a Brother MFC-9340CCW , all in one, color laser printer /copier / scanner/ fax. It is a bit beyond 2 years ,and still on the starter cartridges. The black cartridge reads low, but still prints. The color cartridges still show 2/3 full. It is always ready to work.
Great piece of mind with the ink jet irritation gone forever.
