MN | Keep a very close eye on it, if something doesn't seem right, get in and have it checked, better safe than sorry, don't be afraid to go get a second opinion from a specialist.
Yes it will take some time to heal normally but it will take much longer if you get infections that aren't caught right away.
My brother broke his tibia and fibula right after thanksgiving, a plate, rod and nine screws, got infected, had surgery, didn't get all the infection, went to a specialist, went through another surgery, removed hardware, drilled into the bone to remove infection, pumped full of antibiotics all this time, just started walking on it the first part of April.
Not trying to scare you, most times it goes much smoother, just be careful, and patient.
