Subject: RE: Stihl vs Honda Power Equipment

Floyd County, Iowa
I had an old Weedeater brand curved shaft trimmer that we got new in '81. Finally quit using it 2 years ago, and bought a new Stihl straight shaft trimmer.
I like everything about the Stihl, except 1 thing.
The model I got rotates the wrong way for me. It turns counter-clockwise (viewed from the top side). I'm right handed, and use my right hand on the throttle, and swing the working end with my left.
So, walking along the buildings trimming (they're on my left side), the line "grabs" grass and pulls the trimmer into the grass. Would be like using a circular saw (Skil saw) and pulling it through the work instead of pushing it through, if that makes sense.
They make some that rotate clockwise, but I never gave it a thought when I bought it, and didn't discover it until I used it. I tried switching hands, and that wasn't good.
By the time I made up my mind that I REALLY didn't like the rotation, it was used for an hour, so didn't even ask dealer about getting a different one.
Excellent trimmer, I just should have gotten a different model. Live and learn.
