N FLA | Do you have any storage? Are you on a crop loan that must be paid in full?
Are you thinking forward contract in increments, but all crop delivered at harvest?
We are far away, but like to forward contract some in May for fall delivery, and hold what we can until the next May. But some can't sit on anything past December due to cash flow.
This is clients I work with that sell grain. Trying to hit the planting weather scares that usually occur.
When I grew corn I planted it and sold what I had at harvest. But I never knew if I'd have anything to deliver or not and didn't have any storage. | |
