What the consumer can or can not afford means as much as a farmer needs a certain price for a commodity or they will go broke. The price is where it is because:
1. Trade wants it there. Short and long position ratio.
2. Fundamental reasons have shaped the market price.
3. Combination of the two above.
The market does not care if consumers starve, farmers starve or both.
I will just say it!!
