Southeast WI | As a few others said. Just drop it on top of ground via spaghetti lines and a stainless tube. I put mine about 3" off the row. Here it's about 12 GPA but 20 would be no concern. It's simple, nothing to maintain and one less ground engaging item to cause trouble.
If it looks very dry I will add agrotain to limit volatilization, however I've done that only one year out of the last 6 or 7. N is too mobile. It will get in the soil with one rain for the roots to find it.
