Subject: RE: Cancer pain and meds

Lac qui Parle County Minnesota
Lost my wife 3 months ago to cancer. Pain management always seemed to be non existent. We tried them all, opiates didn't seem to do anything. Toradol, dilauded, seemed to have some effect. Even morphine seemed to not enough. Then there gets to be a stage where the pain meds takes away their personality and they become more zombie like.
Cancer and cancer treatments only seem to take the good things and gives back only bad. We were trying to get medical marijuana towards the end but while the doctors seemed willing, they really didn't seemed like they were informed enough, or they were so stuck on 'standard of care' that they drug their feet in trying something different.
If I were to do it over again, get away from the 'standard care' and try new clinical trials instead. On the other hand, there are a lot of quakes out there pushing snake oil too.
Best of luck, your loved one is in our prayers.
Bruce
