They are definitely worth it! I use them since the very first year they came out. Most times they will be better than OEM´s, in both singulation and spacing, a few times they will be much better, and other few times will be about the same. The faster you plant, the more evident the benefits become (not pushing you to speed up here).
Consider also you will not need to adjust vacuum and/or change disks any more (for corn).
It is true though that esets require some more degree of maintenance. I wouldn´t buy used, for what you could save. Change vacuum gages to Precision´s 30" scale.
Be careful of not overadjusting the disk on the aluminum housing, keep the rubber seals in good shape, don´t let the metal extractor wear down, use recommended kind and rate of lubricant, and you are good to go. Also, if possible, install bullseye tubes too.
