West Union, IOWA FLOLO Farm 52175 | First good job Too the OP, its great to see this place still works..... sharing knowledge and practices....
Now some of my experience--
Dropping seed works great as an "experiment" and early learning tool.....
We dropped a lot of seeds early in the game and you'll qwikly realize to get things to work it takes seed to soil contact.....just like any other crop.
The better job you do seeding.... the less seed you need. I cringe when I hear what some folks tout for seeding rates..... Simply, they listen to seed salesman....and go.
First thing you need to understand if you're going down this road..... every yr is different.. and no matter how good your plan and Data..... MotherNature is illiterate.....
Here's where I'm at, all corn acres are InnerSeeded, bean fall drilling but had 1st success with InnerSeed on beans this yr (beside flying on late....)
Long story short is it takes a lil extra management.....but seems to be paying its way "here" and I hope more data comes back on the last 2 picture.....
We did something pretty kewl...... that you can't really put numbers tooon paper. I'm trying to figure out just what it means..... but that sample seems special(from my test field that I started InnerSeeding 8yrs ago?
