I am not onto zone sampling.. my fields are all pretty small. I would also agree about the coops are in the business of selling. Although my soil is very low and does need a lot of fertilizer.
I just took soil samples yesterday. And went to co-op they charged me $36 each. They use A&L labs. I think it was the S4 package. They added boron to it so the prices went up.
I thought that was pretty steep. Does anyone use Guelph university?
how many samples? i didn't really ask a lot of questions when i was looking into it so not sure how many samples per field they'd take or exactly which tests would be done but the $4 per acre quote sounded somewhat cheap to me. i have roughly 300 acres so $1200 to do it all and i wouldn't have to lift a finger. |
