| I haven't checked out whether they can...I seem to recall seeing a warning that you had to specify making them compatible with earlier versions so a user with an earlier version could edit them.
...but then, if you could open the program with a reader, it might be possible to cut-and-paste the content into the older version, then save it, unless there are formatting incompatibilities.
