SE ND | The only welding required is a little bit of flighting to extend the curent flighting all the way to the end of the shaft...maybe 8inches or so. Then they change to a hanger bearing in the end of the tube. I held the camera inside the spout for one pic and you can see the hanger bearing set up and can kinda tell where the new flighting is welded to the existing flighting. Its a simple install but the directions that come with it aren't very good....more pics would be helpful. One thing I did differently than the directions was putting the lock collar on the inside of the bearing instead of the outside, that allows you to not have to pull the auger out a little to get the collar on and to get full potential out of the extender. I realized after posting I didn't get a great shot of the actual spout but you can see that on stewart steele's site.
