South Central Kansas | Paid $675 for it a the local small town Chevy dealer and filled it with gas for 25 cents a gallon on the way home. That would have been in June, 1967 right after I graduated from HS. It had a 283 4bbl and powerglide transmission. A year later I put a 3 speed in it.
The next spring it was stolen and stripped, bought it back from the insurance for $100. not sure what the thieves thought they were getting. It ran good, but no real special parts. Was stolen from my gf's driveway about midnight while we were inside. They pushed it at least half a block away before starting it. (loud mufflers)
My second car was a 1967 Chevelle Malibu 2 door hardtop, not a SS. Drove it for 5 years, darn good car. Bought my first new car, a 1974 Monte Carlo. | |
