It would be a good idea to figure out what kind of grubs or larvae you are dealing with before you starting putting chemicals on the lawn. You need to kill the adults before they lay eggs that produce all the grubs.
Raccoon or skunks are probably the critters that are digging up the yard looking for something to eat. Moles eat grubs too.
