You do not need multiple product unlock to use the reference feature on the InSight.  This is available whether you log one hybrid/variety or purchase the multiple product unlock to log two or three hybrids/varieties at once.  If you have logged planting data with the InSight you should be able to bring up Automatic Variety tracking on the region selection screen when activating the harvest configuration.  The other option to activate the reference map is on the map tab, at the bottom of the run screen, where it will say Harvest, Field Notes, Map once the harvest configuration is loaded.  Use the load reference button to select the reference map you desire such as a tillage, application or planting.  It is up to you as the operator to select which reference map you deem necessary.

When you copy to card the data is removed and all that is left is a coverage map used for variety tracking for harvesting.  The card has nothing to do with the reference layers because the coverage map is stored with the season.  When you delete a season, or create a new season the reference map is no longer available from the previous logged operations.

All data must be logged with the InSight and there is no way at this time to import data from SMS back into the InSight.   Macy was describing a backup option which copys everything from one InSight to be restored to another InSight to have both monitors with identical information.  This can provide reference maps on a second machine for harvesting if need be but can cause some issues if not done correctly.
