Use as good a piping as you can get and put it as deep as you can.  When Dad has his well replaced a couple years ago the plumber used a heavy PVC type pipe that was supposed to be more resistant to abuse. I asked about seamless black roll plastic.  He called that stuff job security.  He knows he will be back on the roll plastic someday.

As far as the idea of running to a hydrant then a hose to the well ... I wouldn't say that too loud.  That idea might work, but any kind of interconnect between a private well and a municipal system has to have a backflow stopping check valve at the very least, and I am told many municipal systems will not allow any interconnect.

I dont think Id be too worried about good black plastic roll pipe. Weve had it burried in this yard for over 50 years and never had to fix a leak yet. Hope you have as good of luck with it as we have. (your milage may vary though)
