| The 1688 is basically a 1680 with longer sieves. The 2388 has many improvements. More horsepower with a waste gated turbo and an air to air cooler. Closed center hydraulics like a tractor. AFX rotor with one piece concaves. Hydraulic feeder reverse. Bigger and better rotor belts. More clean grain elevator capacity with two speeds. A better cab with improved steering and controls. Yield monitor and tailings monitor.
Easier to grease. Heavier sieve shaker arms. A door to see sieves and a light. Easier to adjust straw chopper. More steps and rails to make combine easier and safer to work on. A superior header control as compared to the 1680. and even more but I am tired of typing.
You better look again at the combines if you think the cab is the only difference. That is like me saying my 4020 is like the 8130 JD except it does not have a cab. | |
