Jersey Shore, PA | We have a similar situation in some fields. We had some fertilizer issues that caused some rows to be a couple stages ahead of others. After hearing my reps advice, I decided to wait until everything was in tassel to start. His suggestion was just like Hawk said. Better to err on the late side than the early side. You may lose some of the benefit, but you won't be risking crop problems such as the beer canning of ears. If it's too far behind I'd just shut the booms off in those areas. At harvest, have him look at those ears in the spots that didn't have tassel. See if it did any damage. I don't think they've got this thing completely figured out yet as to exactly why and when the damage occurs.
Hope that helps
