SE PA | first of all, i'm not a fan of government programs- don't use them myself other than for some waterways i built 20 year ago and a csp contract that helped pay for some cover crop research and the pollinator project. I would favor some money for first timers to learn as there is indeed a big learning curve. But now there is more info out there FOR THOSE WHO ARE MOTIVATED TO FIND IT! But i will admit that i'm coming from 20 years of cover crop research on my farm and no one could pay me enough not to plant cover crops. The dividends are paying off with reduced input costs and more resilient soils that really help out in tougher years. What is OM worth that went from 2% to 5.5%? I don't know but the Cover Crops and no till were a part of that.... | |
