We're just getting a few tassels here and there too. Sandier ground is pushing them through pretty good. 10 days or so behind on GDU's added to a late planting start and my 'great' idea of stretching the maturities this year are making me just mildly nervous about when the first frost hits this fall. Anyways, the pop-up is hands down the BEST improvement and change I made this year. Have several farms where our corn fields border the neighbor's and I didn't once see where the "grass was greener" on the other side of the fence. Early root development was excellent, and color was nearly perfect from the day it emerged. Neighboring fields were 2x2 dry and liquid that I can think of. No pre plant nitrogen applied on our fields and earliest sidedress was at V3 or so. No difference in no-till or conventional on bean stubble, c.o.c., or sod that was noticeable.
