valve cover leaking oil on manifold causing fire risk. gm recommends storing affected cars outside until repaired.
on my 2001 impala, i have been smelling smoking oil in the garage. it looked like oil was coming from valve covers. it just started bothering few months ago. i was going to take it to an independent shop after harvest to get new gaskets installed. i would do myself but it looked like more than i had time for. looks like there was a previous recall for this, that i was unaware of. at least i didn't burn down my unattached garage, and nearby buildings.
my 2005 impala is in a garage attached to the house, but the recall is only through 2004's. | |
