You know, I just can't recall everything but it sounds like you might be right on the edge of treating for first gen. We used to have really good results with a granular product on first gen, when ground applied it was directed to the whorl. If your not finding them in the whorl yet, there might be time. Have you got a local agronomy guy that you like to work with? If so, give him a call. Just a thought.


Well, I am the local agronomy guy!!!! I'm just a young buck looking for advice from some old timers who has experience with corn borer!!!!!! ;) Like I said, I don't see it too often because of CB corn. We usually have a little bit in conv. corn, but it's not worth treating, but this year has been a real doosey!!! I read a UofI article about them today. It said a rescue treatment after the borers had bored into the stalk wouldn't work. I haven't found any worms in the whorls, just egg masses. Thanks!
