far northeast corner of MO | I have some fields that have european corn borer in them. I'd say infestation runs anywhere from 1%-5%. The borers have already tunneled into the base of the stalk, but I've found egg masses in the leaf whorls. What can I expect in the near future with these beasts??? Should I be prepared to fly some Warrior or something else on when the 2nd generation emerges??? The older leaves have the typical holes eaten into them, but no new feeding. At first I thought it was armyworm, but got to looking closer and found them in the stalk. Will I have a bigger problem with them about tasseling time??? This corn is between waist and shoulder high on me (6ft.). I know the damage has already been done on the stalk and there's nothing to do about that. I'll probably have some lodged corn this fall. This is conventional, non-BT corn also. Never have much problem with them most years. This year sure is trying everything!!! Thanks!
