Stores good if face is small enough. Put earlage up in a 16ft in 12. Picked and run through a automatic ear corn roller mill. Was good feed.want it about 30% or mill throws a fit and clogs up. Boughg a snapper head for my 781 caseih chopper and ran it through that in 13 was a wetter fall so it snapped clean and was 30-38%. Snapped and chopped last year and put in a 14ft silo with one of those liners. The liner was a mistake. Had to take chippers off of unloader as they just wrapped the plastic and stopped unloader. It was a drier fall so it did not snap clean and towards the end was getting under 30 so had it combined and ran through a roller blower and finished off silo that way. This fall will most likely pick and run through mill as milk checks are not that great so might as well save some money doing it my self with less fuel and no combine charge. Snapper on chopper used about 7-8 gallons a hour (not efficient) and if you got two done a hour it was a good pace. Feed 18-20 lbs a cow and there is a chart that tells how much per inch so match face to usage and do it a little wetter like everyone is mentioning and it will come out cool.
