south central WI
I'm heading to bed soon, but been meaning to post this for a while. If I don't now I may never do it. Just responded below with info on it in the hmc thread, but that was a day old so as be missed. We put corn up as wet as we can. First year with a bunker so did this real wet. I don't read feed test numbers, but nutritionist said it's pretty "hot" so we need to limit amount fed. We have fed about 2/3 of a normal amount and still at same milk lbs and fat protein. If going in a bunk, combine it as soon as it is mostly black layered. We may have lost a little yield due to tip loss from non black layered corn, but more than made up for it in feeding less dm and overall digestibility. Pic is on phone so give me a minute to attach it to this. Any questions I will answer either now if I see it or when I wake up in a few hours. This is for dairy cows.
