I have multiple systems that I've plumbed with the 2 and 3 inch banjo flange check valves. With enough head pressure I can have water get thru the check valve going the wrong direction. Idk what the problem is but I'm gonna investigate this week. Shouldn't be possible. Both instances are with the 3" check valve I believe. One place I have the check valve installed is basically at the base of the inductor so as to eliminate inflow of water into the inductor if the valve is forgotten open. One of my current failures is in that application. The other is on another system and I can't remember exactly where. Maybe it's as simple as a piece of debris that entered via the inductor. Something is causing the plunger to hang open.

As far as having enough pressure to prime I don't think that is a concern. We've never had any problem with that at all. The psi to open the valve is very low.
