Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
If interested in WW II history, Google "Operation Jedburgh" and read about them on Wikipedia, and then if you want to get the full story, read "The Jedburghs" by Will Irwin, Lt. Col., US Army, retired.

Three man teams were trained, and then dropped into France both before and after D-Day, behind enemy lines, to organize and supply the French Resistance. Precursors to Special Forces. Talk about fearless and courageous soldiers-absolutely amazing.

Disclaimer: I read about one book per decade, but I got stranded for a day on a trip last month, and started reading this book because Will is my second cousin, who I see about once every 15 years.

Regards, Bruce
