Subject: Re: Camera on grain cart

Pittsburg, Kansas

For us we liked the idea of a camera looking into the hopper so if the trucks are running late and we need to top off the cart on the go Jason can see that he needs to slow down or come in a little closer for the top off.

Our rule for everyone except Jason is to match the combine speed and stay there and let the combine operator do the rest. My son has run a few million bushels through that cart and we just turn the auger on and he will match us, even if we speed up or slow down. We will even unload on the go going around a 45 degree turn  doing ends with him. He knows his stuff. This adds a little extra productivity as the combine can always run full, even in varying conditions and speeds. The problem this causes is if we are topping off and we slow down to fill the back he slows down too. We have to get on the radio and tell him to keep a constant speed. Now that we have scales on the cart he knows when he is close to loaded so it is not such a big deal, as he can just slow down when he gets close to loaded. With the camera he will be able to see the topping off process and run at full speed a little longer.

It might not be that big of deal but for another $35 camera, why not???

With the setup we will have he will leave the monitor on the hopper when catching the grain, on the truck when unloading into the truck and on the rear down the road. should be a slick setup.
