Subject: RE: 1680 final drives

I can't speak to 1680, but I had bearings put in a final drive last year on a Deere 7700. Due to time constraints I had the dealer come out.

For the $450 after I saw them do it I was glad I didn't attempt it myself. Those things are HEAVY and AWKWARD. The dealer had a little jig they could cradle it in before unbolting, etc. You could probably build one but really looking at the job involved I think it is better having it done.
