Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!) | I have ZERO experience with Vista and the new versions of Excel.
Try this:
> Make a copy of the original dbf file to protect its integrity.
> Open the original dbf using Word Pad, Note Pad, or even Word
> You may be able to scroll around, do a "find", or something and edit the file, and save it.
Another idea:
> Get an earlier version of MS Works and install that on the Vista machine. MS Works database or Spreadsheet should edit dbf's. I use Version 7. amd cam certainly assume it will run on Vista.
Yet another idea:
> Get an inexpensive GIS application that can edit shape files. There are some free ones out there, and a couple of years ago I helped a grower get set up for one. I don't remember much about it, but I am pretty sure I got it from ESRI. It was cumbersome, but not too bad, also hard to print from, but no big deal.
Yet another idea:
> I have also changed rates manually from Site Mate by clicking on the zone, and editing attributes, but that is very tedious. |
