North central iowa | I think I would mix in a legume.... maybe like a hairy vetch. It will give you back some N for your corn crop. Also if you continually stay with grasses you will end up with disease issue just like doing corn on corn. Otherwise sounds like you have a solid plan shouldnt need much commercial fertilizer with the manure . Sure wish I lived a tad father south really hard to get a cover crop here started you have to fly them on around tassle time if you want them to get started to be able to get any forage off them in the spring. | |
