Ron would never back down from his principals, and on some things like the worthlessness of the war on drugs that hurt him. I think his son sees some need for moderation of what he says.

The last several presidents have won by telling lies then doing bad things once in office and ignoring everything they said in the campaign. Maybe we need one that lies to get elected like the rest have, then actually looks out for the nation rather than the crony capitalists and power brokers. Problem is it would be about one against a hundred thousand bureaucrats in Washington. It is not just the elected officials, it is the whole D of C that is rotten to the core.

I'm not convinced it will ever make much difference who we elect from here on out. That is a sad thing to say, but I think the ship has listed too far to ever get it upright again. I'm afraid it's already taking on water.
